1. Introduction
Welcome to Cam Dictionary, a mobile application developed by Subedisoft ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information related to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application, including when you buy a monthly or yearly subscription.
By downloading and using Cam Dictionary, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This policy was last updated on October 11, 2026.
2. Information Collection and Use
Cam Dictionary does not require an account. We collect only what is needed to look up words, show definitions, improve the app, and provide optional subscriptions:
- Camera and text recognition: The camera is used so you can point at printed text and tap a word. Recognition runs on your device. We do not upload camera frames, photos, or scanned pages to Subedisoft servers.
- Words you look up: The word you select is sent to the dictionary source you choose (for example Google, Merriam-Webster, Wiktionary, Oxford Learner's Dictionaries, or a dictionary you add) so that source can return a definition. Those providers process the request under their own privacy policies. We do not keep a copy of your lookups on our servers.
- Content stored on your device: Bookmarks, tags, lookup history, flashcards, reading progress, and PDFs you import stay on your device. We do not upload this content to our servers.
- Web pages you open: If you read a website inside the app, that site loads directly and may collect information under its own policy. We do not operate those sites.
- Support messages: If you contact us through our support form, we receive the message you write and the email address you choose to provide. We use this only to respond to you. The form is processed by Web3Forms.
- Usage and technical data: To keep the app working, we and our service providers may collect information that is not linked to your identity, such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and general usage. Advertising identifiers and usage data may also be used to show and measure ads.
3. Subscriptions and Purchases
Cam Dictionary offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions, including a monthly plan and a yearly plan. A subscription unlocks premium features, such as unlimited word lookups, for that billing period. The price of each plan is shown in the app, and on the App Store or Google Play, before you confirm the purchase. Prices can differ by country and store.
Here is how purchase information is handled:
- Who is charged: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. We never receive or store your credit card number, bank details, or full billing address. Apple and Google process the payment.
- What we receive: The app stores share limited purchase information with the app, such as a transaction identifier, whether you bought the monthly or yearly plan, whether the subscription is active, and its renewal or expiration status. We use this only to unlock premium features and to restore purchases. We do not sell this information.
- Automatic renewal: A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends, at the then-current price of the plan you selected.
- How to manage or cancel: You can review, change, or turn off auto-renewal in your store account settings after purchase. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trials: If a free trial is offered, any unused part of that trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where the store applies that rule.
- Restore purchases: If you already subscribed, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases to restore access on this device.
Purchases on Apple devices are also covered by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Purchases on Google Play are covered by the Google Play Terms of Service.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may collect information under their own policies. These services include:
- Apple App Store and Google Play: Used to distribute the app and to process subscriptions and other in-app purchases, including payment, renewal, and restore-purchase status.
- Dictionary providers: Used to return definitions for the word you select. Which provider receives the word depends on the dictionary you choose in the app.
- AdMob (Google): Used to show advertisements, including optional rewarded ads. AdMob may collect and use data such as advertising identifiers, device information, and usage data to serve and measure ads. You can learn more in the Google Ads Privacy Policy. On iOS you can limit tracking when the app asks for permission. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in device settings.
- Web3Forms: Used on our website to deliver support form messages to us.
5. Security
We value your trust in using Cam Dictionary. Dictionary requests and support messages are sent using industry-standard encryption in transit. Purchase records are protected by Apple and Google. Please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy

If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our records.
